This morning we had to run to the store and since Turtle wasn't feeling well, I let him bring my old iPod for him to play games on while he sat in the cart.
He started playing a game that has you spell words and when it asked him to spell the word "head," he looks over at me and said,
"Mom, I don't know how to spell the word 'head!'
I said, "But Turtle, you are four. It's okay if you don't know how to spell the word 'head.' You know how to do so many other things."
He thought about that for a minute and then said, "You're right! I do know how to do a lot of other things. Like karate and wrestling and cleaning up."
My response was to tell him that he doesn't know how to do karate and wrestling, but I held my tongue on those. However, I did have to say, "Oh really? You know how to clean up?"
Turtle responded, "Yes (insert a huge sigh), I just don't like to."
