fire station...
Buddy is getting so close to finishing his Wolf badge. A trip to the fire station to talk to the firemen about fire safety means he only has four more requirements to do by June 27th in order to become a Bear. He can do it.

last day of school...
It's a day that is highly anticipated by some and dreaded by others. For me? Both. I made some really cute gifts for the teachers as a thank you gift and then totally forgot to make them cards. Sometimes I am completely absent minded (my husband would agree).
Here is Sunshine with Mrs. C. Sunshine loved school this year but is happy that it is summer so she can spend time with her family.
Here is Buddy with Ms. C. He enjoyed learning so much this year. He talked so much about bones and what goes on inside our bodies, that I felt I was back in biology. That just shows how much he loves to learn.
I decided to make the end of school fun with a special treat of books for the kids. (Thanks Uncle Ben!) After I took this picture, the kids opened their books and started reading immediately. It was so cute to see them, and yes, I should have taken a picture of that too, but I didn't think about it until Turtle was up and running.

creating colors...
What seems like a million years ago, but was really only a few months ago, Sunshine was given this really awesome gift. You take broken crayon pieces (because if you are anything like me or my kids, you can't color with broken crayons) and stick them in this handy-dandy melter and in a short amount of time you get new crayons! The kids had fun experimenting with lots of different colors.

sunbathing...
We got a lovely day of sunshine and so I sent the kids outside to enjoy it. They didn't want to play, they only wanted to soak up some lovely vitamin D. I don't blame them at all.

santa claus...
I guess I'm just a softy when it comes to the guy in the red suit. He doesn't come to our house, but the kids enjoy sitting on his lap. And since this was at the ward Christmas party and I know who was under that fake hair, I was okay with it. Believe it when I say I know about other Santa's. Not all of them are okay to sit on. I'll spare you the details.

costumes...
The kids in their costumes.
Buddy as Poseidon. He has a thing for Greek mythology.
Sunshine as a pink and purple princess. She is all girly and Dad and I discovered that we are in HUGE trouble when she really starts wearing make-up. Wow. She's going to be a knockout.

I actually enjoyed the costume making this year, minus all that tulle on Sunshine's dress. It took me awhile to figure out how to put it together best, and it WASN'T how the directions said to do it. I even enjoyed making those hats, which were a lot easier than I thought they would be.

harvest shots...
Enjoy! The kids weren't very cooperative at first. The second round and a free pumpkin later (some random guy asked if we wanted a third pumpkin for the 'little guy' and I said sure) went much better. This is also my first attempt at really using a photoshop program so let me know what you do and don't like.

at the beach...
We got a call from a friend this morning who asked us if we would like to join them at the beach today. We haven't gone to the beach in awhile so we decided to go. Today was absolutely perfect. It wasn't too windy or hot or cold. See how pretty it was? My kids are mingled in with their friends. I just picked out a few of my favorites from today. Enjoy.

spray park...
To whomever it was who invented spray parks I just want to shout THANK YOU!!! I really wish they had those where we live. However, we don't, so we had to enjoy this one.
Turtle didn't want to go in at all. I had to bribe him with $1 to get him to go in. He was still hesitant. See his cute face?
Sunshine had no problem running right in and enjoying herself. She LOVES water and swimming and baths.
Five minutes later Turtle was still having problems. He screamed his head off. I'm not sure what changed his mind though because a minute later he was fine.
Buddy was enjoying himself as well. He loved standing under the buckets, which dumped water out in intervals.
This looks like it would be a perfect shower head. Don't you think? Water squirting at you from all angles. That would be lovely.
So fun.
Lots of fun.
Even Turtle was enjoying himself and kept bugging Dad to come watch him and take pictures of him enjoying himself. Silly little guy.
And another of Buddy for your viewing pleasure.
And finally Sunshine who just makes me smile with her cuteness.
